The Birth Time Reliability Score

Updated over 2 months ago

The Birth Time Reliability Score is valuable when an accurate birth time is unavailable or uncertain. The Maia Mechanics Birth Time Reliability Scanner will calculate a Reliability Score by automatically checking for significant changes before and after the entered birth time and indicating when these changes took place.

In order to calculate your own birth time reliability, please create a Maia Mechanics account and sign up for a free trial of either the Essentials Plan or higher. The index score will show up in the section called Birth Data (click on your Chart in MMI, and navigating to Birth Data on the right hand side Properties Menu.)

Reliability Scores are categorized as follows:

  • Low: Major change within 30 minutes | Chart changes significantly within a short time

  • Medium: Major change within 31-120 minutes | Chart would change significantly if birth time were incorrect by 30 minutes

  • High: Major change after 121 minutes | Chart would change significantly if birth time were incorrect by more than 2 hours

Changes to any of the following chart properties are considered when establishing a reliability score:

  • Channels

  • Centers

  • Type

  • Authority

  • Definition

  • Profile

  • Incarnation Cross

Each major change is accompanied by a link to view the alternative birth time chart, and you have the option of saving the alternative Chart to your library. Note that the reliability score for an alternative birth time chart will always be Low because it is calculated at the cusp of a major change.
